With the support of Africalia Belgium, Yole! Africa is strengthening its film and audiovisual training program: “Alternative to TV”. This program aims to develop a new generation of conscious Congolese filmmakers and to professionalize the cinema and audiovisual profession at Yole!Africa.
This year, among the courses offered, the first will be dedicated to the job of the Director of Photography or chief operator of the shooting. It will take place from 2nd through the 18th April in Goma, DR Congo.
What is the role of the director of photography or the director of photography?
The job of the director of photography or also called the cinematographer is to take care of the artistic and technical quality of the shots during a shooting made for the cinema or the television. He is responsible for the setting and the lights. He directs and coordinates the image technical team (assistant operators, cameramen, electricians, machinists). He works hand in hand with the director.
Who can apply?
Anyone can apply, however priority will be given to those who:
Have at least 1 year of experience as a director, cameraman, camera assistant, or lighting technician in the film and television sector;
Oral and written skills in the following three languages: Swahili, French and English.
Availability throughout the duration of the training
Being motivated and passionate

Collect your references of realized works and experiences in the field.
