In celebration of  Women’s month, a photo exhibition with the theme: “Restoring the dignity of Congolese women.” opened this Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Cultural Center Yole! Africa. This exposition highlights various benefits that recently occurred during the U.S. tour of the film Jazz Mama, which was screened in many major U.S. states including New York City, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Durham, Chicago , Silver Springs and Virginia.
The tour also included presentations by  filmmaker, Petna Ndaliko and scholar Chérie Rivers, who are currently co director sof the cultural center Yole! Africa, 
”Jazz Mama” is a film and a movement that offer a different perspective on the presentation of Congolese women.
Jazz Mama celebrates the courage, strength, beauty, and dignity of the women who, despite the everyday problems she faces, doesn’t hesitate to speak out to denounce the violence she suffered. 
This exhibition shows us great figures in the culture and highlights form the U.S. tour including images of high-school and university students engaged in the heated debates the often followed the more than 15 screening of the film.
